Pam Abernethy

"PAM ABERNETHY"
Southern born in Canton, Georgia and bred on Jekyll Island, Pam graduated high school from Glynn Academy and then studied Sociology and Business at the College of the Albemarle. She then moved on to the big city of Atlanta with her entrepreneurial spirit in tow and nothing has stopped her since!
Her business training from school gave her an edge when she opened a travel agency in Jacksonville, FL, and became highly successful which she sold three years later. While in her 20's, she wisely invested in real estate in both Atlanta and in Aspen, CO. She loved the buying, refurbishing and selling of real estate and knew she would one day have a real estate career. However she had a few more goals to accomplish first and on she went to create a Travel Agency which became one of the largest on the West coast.
The time was finally right for her to return to her southern roots. She considered six different places to relocate to and chose Asheville. When she first located she opened a Floral business in order to be able to have a business that allowed her to use her creative side. During that time she also refurnished and sold several homes which led to her interest in real estate. Once again she ran a successful business, but felt the pull towards a career in real estate that she had experienced many years before. She took the leap and the rest is history.
Pam was raised in the shadow of excellence by a cousin named Bobby Jones who was the only amateur golfer to achieve a Grand Slam. She still loves the game today.
Having traveled all over the world she feels fortunate to have experienced so many different lifestyles. Obviously, this is a tremendous asset to the real estate consumers who come here from all over the world and from every walk of life.
Pam still enjoys refurbishing houses and (you wouldn't guess this), any type of fishing that allows her to be on the water.
What a treat to meet Pam with her business skills, her real estate knowledge, her creativity and her appreciation of this area she so thoughtfully shares with her clients.
