Nina Wiersema is an agent with EXIT Realty Vistas and a member of the Hendersonville Board of Realtors. Raised in a conventional South Carolina town by unconventional parents, she learned to prize a diligent work ethic and strong education as much as a daring sense of adventure, commitment to environmental stewardship and respect for a diversity of ideas.
Proudly wearing the badge of “tree hugger,” Nina graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in environmental and natural resource management from Clemson University. She volunteered as a park ranger at Carlsbad Caverns National Park and worked on a farm near Asheville before returning to the classroom. With her sights set on a career as a medical laboratory scientist, Nina completed coursework at Carolinas College of Health Sciences and attained certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathology. In between her academic pursuits, she sustained herself as a small business manager and cemetery sales representative, gaining valuable experience in sales and customer service.
When she bought her first home and sold it one year later for a profit, Nina was not only able to pay off her student loan debt, but she was bitten by the real estate bug. She hung up her lab coat and is now a dedicated Realtor, excited to help others achieve their dream of home ownership or rise above debilitating debt through a sweet sale.
An avid outdoorsperson, Nina is a huge fan of the Asheville area’s many recreational opportunities and looks forward to introducing them to you. When not showing houses, negotiating sales or hosting open houses, you can find her camping, hiking and kayaking with her partner, Taylor, and their canine children, Pretzel and Schmooty.
